A catamaran picnic in the calanques

Calanques Catamaran Cruise, Picnic & Swimming

About this experience

Bleu Evasion runs Grenadine, a catamaran with two skippers, four toilets and room for 24, from the Pointe Rouge harbour in the south of Marseille. That last number matters. The big sightseeing boats carry far more, and on a catamaran this size everyone gets a spot on the nets.

Options run from 3 to 7.5 hours, and the stops depend on which you book and the weather. The listing's reference route: a 75-minute swim and snorkel at the Riou archipelago, a photo stop at Sormiou, a 45-minute swim at a "secret" cove, then 75 minutes at Sugiton. Morgiou, En-Vau, Port-Pin and Port-Miou are optional photo stops, since anchoring in En-Vau and Port-Pin is banned. One guest counted three swims.

Lunch is a homemade sandwich and dessert with a glass of rosé, plus soft drinks. Snorkel gear, wetsuits when the water is cold and a GoPro are on board, and the listing even covers the calanques tax. Paddleboards come out on the sunset trip only. Be on time: the listing says late arrivals aren't refunded.
